Laura Lewis-Paul is the Founder and Creative Director of Saffron Records and a Director of Bristol Women in Music.
With over 7 years in the Creative Industry, her music career has been specifically focused on gender equality within the music industry.
Launching Saffron Records in September 2015 as part of the Prince’s Trust Enterprise Scheme, Laura has been able to gain momentum and a strong reputation for her company through partnerships with PRSF as a Talent Development Partner and Red Bull.
The company has a strategy that particularly focuses on music technology for women, this is through their education program in schools and for 16-25 year olds, offering music production, DJing and Sound Engineering. At the core of Laura’ s career it has always been a passion and drive of her’s to work with young people creatively, the company therefore has a young team of apprentices and interns as part of their management team to support the artists with their development.
Saffron Records provides an alternative offer to other labels with it’s emphasis on giving young women a space to be creative. She has created a community within Bristol that shares the values that support young women throughout the industry.
Laura’s work with young people constantly inspires and challenges her. It enables her to continually question her beliefs and societal values, allowing for a progressive and positive mark on the industry.
