John Hywel Morris – PRS For Music

John has worked for PRS for Music for over 24 years. He has long experience of both the Welsh and London music industry. John started as a musician and composer in numerous Welsh language bands before moving to London with a band. Currently he is PRS for Music’s Senior Membership Relations Manager for Wales, he serves all Welsh PRS and MCPS composers, publishers and authors. Before his membership role he worked across several different areas ranging from repertoire and copyright to all aspects of licensing. He initiated the first joint licensing of MCPS and PPL repertoire and was instrumental in devising the blanket licensing of repertoire used by independent production companies for S4C, which is in place to this day.

Having moved back to Wales from London in 2013, his current role for PRS for Music involves dealing with Welsh membership issues on behalf of composers and publishers, hosting PRSfM events, giving seminars at colleges and festivals, and meeting Welsh composers, publishers and key stakeholders.
