TRIBELESS are a alt-rock trio formed when guitarist/programmer Latif Bryant met Max Rhead, a young grade 8 accredited drummer. Theirs is music build on equal parts anthemic firepower, subtle electronic nuance and progressive modern alt-rock. All that was needed was a voice capable of soaring above the riffs as well as diving deep to find the soul in each song. Lydia McDonald had sung from the age of 5. Influenced by everything from Paramore and PVRIS to contemporary R&B her rare confection of power and vulnerability is the final piece in TRIBELESS puzzle.

The Montagues

The Montagues are a four piece alt rock/indie band hailing from the North Wales Coast. Since forming in late 2018 the band have been busy writing and recording at Orange Studio where fellow North Walians Catfish and The Bottlemen have previously recorded. Saltwater Injection

Saltwater Injection write lovely singalong pop ditties chopped up with a bit of social awareness and delivered in a smoking pile of dirty bass pounding drums and wailing vocal.

Experimental Noise Punk.

Described as; “100%, hardcore, unadulterated noise of the angriest variety”(yeahbuddyDIY) & “Brash as fuck and loud as fuck”(link2wales);
for their previous exploits.

Saltwater Injection are back and ready to take it to another, filthier, level.

A five piece Emo Indie Rock band from London, providing an energetic rhythm section coupled with ethereal instrumental layering and punchy choruses.

A set seemed to add the strength of ‘classic’ sounding indie music with a pop punk vocalist over an array of songs….The highlight of the song names was “That seagull’s got nothing on me”, and if that combined with the fact they have some furious hooks isn’t enough to keep you watching then I’m not sure what you’re doing thinking of going to venues that have a room named ‘Dungeon’. – Juicebox Gigs

Hollywood Eyes

Cheshire-based Pop/Indie band formed early 2018. They released their first single ‘Wanna Be’, in May of 2018. In very little time the four piece ‘found their sound’ with a mixture of influences from different genres but a common fixation on pushing boundaries in the Pop/Indie genre. Creating a dreamy relevant sound with words of angst. Incorporating a mixture of emotions that’s captivating and easily relatable like a soundtrack to a movie about any young life. From day one the band have gained a lot of attention with a fast growth in their fan base with no signs of slowing down.

Everyone And Anyone

Five piece pop-punk band from North Wales.

Deh-Yey kick up a storm with a blistering set of loud power punk from Chester. There’s a healthy army of power duos doing the rounds at the moment however I’m not bored yet. These guys are a different picture. The drummer Tom is like an octopus at times and pure batters his kit around like fuck while Cash Burns on vocals gives us some dark blues riffage to compliment. What’s not to like? – Louder than War

Newley formed in the wake of last year, Brutes will be making their first live appearance at this years Focus Wales. Originally playing as Gravves they’ve had a rethink, added an extra member and started from scratch. Internetless so no previews. Will have to go in unknowing . What a wonderful thing.

Angel Hotel

Angel Hotel are a four piece, cinematic alternative indie-pop outfit from Cardiff, South Wales. They combine bitter/sweet melodies with raucous guitar driven pop in order to capture a contemporary twist on a classic sound.
Inspired by a burning passion for movie soundtracks, the Welsh trio harness emotive themes often found in film and use this influence to colour the music and engage the listener.
Formed in 2020, the band released their first single Key Largo last summer. In their own words it is a ‘heartfelt, honest account of modern life full of reflective introspection and hopeful optimism backed by a driving pop rhythm and an anthemic closing climax’.

The trio consists of Sion Russell Jones (vocals, guitar) who started his career as a solo singer song-writer emerging on the Welsh music scene and beyond. Having released several studio albums under his own name – the songwriting naturally progressed into a new direction that became Angel Hotel. As an artist published under BDI music, Sion has recorded, collaborated, toured and co-written with a plethora of eclectic acts, from the underground and beyond.

The visual concepts for the band are the creation of Carys Jones (bass, vocals, graphic design). As well as a long standing relationship with music, Carys has a background in fine art, portrait painting and collage creation. The collaborative dynamic between the two has proven to be a key element in the creation of the band as well as the building blocks that help shape the visual concepts of Angel Hotel.

Continuing the line up is esteemed drummer, Jordan Dibble. With a hugely versatile musical preference and an eclectic background in a litany of musical styles ranging from the simplistically saccharin to the absurdly complex.

Completing the line up is Barny Southgate. A virtuosic keys player who colours the music with interesting synthesiser sequences.

All originating from the vales of South and West Wales, Angel hotel aim to create music that you can picture in the films that shaped your outlook on life. Not necessarily a specific stylistic trait but more of a regal feeling of nostalgia and familiarity that helps the listener to connect and relate on an emotional level that transcends comparison and category.

The band plan on releasing a slew of singles in 2020/21 as well as a full length EP produced by Tim Woodcroft of Long Wave Studios and co produced by Russell Jones. Expect to see more from the trio in the coming months including live streams, festival announcements and release plans.
