Llangollen based 5 piece, Campfire Social, are a refuge from the wild woods all around. Their incandescent, melodic songs take the intimate heartbreak of Elliott Smith and embellish with golden harmonies borrowed from The Beach Boys. At times getting you up off your chairs in a passionate rage, at others just to dance, but always filled with hope. Campfire Social formed following the demise of the very highly regarded, and lamented, Shy & the Fight (Radio 1, 6Music airplay; multiple festival appearances; debut single on Popty Ping Records). Tom was that band’s chief songwriter. Campfire Social is an uplifting and incredibly beguiling refinement of his talents. Tom sums his songwriting philosophy up in typically unshowy fashion: “it’s about taking a personal subject that I think everyone can relate to and giving it life by adding a hopeful melody.”   Last year saw Campfire’s first release, ‘Nothing, Nowhere, Never, Now’, listed by Adam Walton (BBC Wales), Rock Current (podcast) and Drunk on Music (Blog) in their best of 2016 roundups.  This year began with that song being A-listed by BBC Radio Wales resulting in continued airplay, and following successful showcases during FOCUS Wales 2017, the band are now braced for a run of festivals in the coming months.

‘Campfire Social are a sanctuary of warmest humanity and crackling, luminous melancholy. The kind of melancholy that makes the heart flutter and take flight’
Adam Walton, BBC Radio Wales
