Power Pop, Slacker Rock
Papur Wal are a trio based in Cardiff via North Wales. Formed in 2018 as a three piece, initially Papur Wal placed themselves firmly in the 90s slacker rock camp, with Y Selar acclaimed 2019 EP of the year ‘Lle yn y byd mae hyn?’, and AA-side ‘O’n ni’n Ffrindia / When he’s gone’ introducing audiences to their fuzzy, disjointed melancholic shape shifting songs. More recently Papur Wal have explored more sugary harmonised melodies and 3-minute pop songs influenced by west coast 70s pop. 2021 will see the release of their debut album.
