Jamie Ford (Byta / byta.com)

A graduate of BA (Hons) Music Promotion in 2014, Jamie started his music journey as an artist. After a final study year and simultaneously interning at Wichita Recordings, Music Gateway and The Joiners, Jamie joined Southampton’s newest music venue – The 1865. Quickly developing from Assistant to Marketing, Promotions & Venue Manager after embedding the venue into the national touring circuit.

Jamie later started his own live promotions company and label, honeymooner. Working with artists such as Fontaines DC, black midi, Shame, Fat White Family, Aldous Harding, Stella Donnelly, Sports Team, Porridge Radio, Black Country New Road, Yard Act, Squid, SOAK and Gus Dapperton. Additionally, Jamie is an artist manager – holding music industry experience across digital, publishing, tour management, studio projects and recording contracts.

Jamie has led international artist campaigns and consulted on marketing projects for the legendary Isle of Wight Festival. In 2019, Jamie secured a sync on BBC’s hit series Peaky Blinders for one of his artists.

Jamie is part of the team at Byta / byta.com – the platform enabling everyone to send & receive digital audio in a clean, simple and secure way. Built for everyone working with music today. As part of Artist & Label Services, he regularly interacts with artists and their teams to help them share their work with the wider industry – efficiently and securely.

#HowWeListen is Byta’s nonprofit education arm. Jamie helps to curate events and content which aim to pass knowledge to tomorrow’s artists and industry leaders. Helping them navigate careers in music.
