Oblong

“Spiky, joy-injections of guitars in our ear-holes” – Adam Walton, BBC Radio Wales | “Top tune ‘Sdim Ots Da Fi’” – Rhys Mwyn, BBC Radio Cymru | “Briliant…gwd” - David R Edwards >>>>> Having existed in a nascent form for years, oblong finally emerged in 2016 as possibly Llanelli’s only bi-lingual post-punk band. Singing in Welsh and English, they take a skewed look at subjects such as zombies and phone hackers. Their sound is raw and unadorned - BBC’s Adam Walton once described it as ‘Fuzzed up shed skronk’. Their 2017 self-recorded album, “Briliant…Gwd” attracted fulsome praise from music blogs and had repeated airplay on stations across Wales, England, Europe and North America. Their live set is uncompromisingly, punchy and compact - blink and they may have already left the stage.
