Danny Gruff

'We know Wales throws out some amazing Singer Songwriters, and Danny Gruff is one of them’ Scott McGerty, Amazing Radio |‘What a Voice!’,Chris Evans, BBC Radio 2 >>>>> On June 9th, Danny released the self-titled 'Danny Gruff', which sees the culmination of 10 years relentless touring and songwriting. Singer/songwriter Danny Gruff was brought up in a small town in North Wales, initially catching the music bug under the influence of his brother’s deep love of 60s pop music. Since moving to London in 2014, Danny has played an average of 200 gigs a year (281 in 2016), perfecting his craft and blending pop, rock & electronic styles. In 2015, Danny announced his audacious ONTAW project, in which he released one new track a week for the entire year. 11 months and 3 UK tours later Danny entered the studio with producer, Andy Hawkins, to start work on his debut album. The premise for this album was to create something bigger and bolder than previous releases. Songs such as ‘Comfortable’ and ‘After the Storm’ are a nod to classic songwriters such as Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty, whereas in songs such as 'Pieces’ and ‘Share the Same Skies’, more unconventional influences are at play. Danny has played with many respected artists, among them being McFly, Bastille, Frank Turner, Charlie Simpson and The King Blues. Since the release of the album, Danny has toured the UK promoting it. In July, he embarked on a 7 date UK tour, most of the dates sold out, which then lead to Danny doing a small number of dates with a full band in larger venues. The first single, ‘Comfortable’ was picked up by Amazing Radio, and peaked at #2 and spent 8 weeks in their chart.
