"the end product never ceases to enchant and surprise – which is all you can ask, really. It is simultaneously gentle and powerful." New Band Of The Week' THE GUARDIAN >>>>>> CaStLeS’ music swirls somewhere between Os Mutantes, Ennio Morricone and the misty mountains of Snowdonia, a delightfully hypnotic voodoo groove with reverb soaked melodies. The Llanrug three-piece band was initially formed as a duo act by brothers Cynyr and Dion Hamer, they were later joined by Calvin Thomas on bass. The release of debut EP 'PartDepart' along with a live reputation gained by traveling up and down the country eventually earned the band their debut performance slot on the BBC Introducing stages at Reading & Leeds Festival in 2016. They also found success playing shows as part of the BBC and Arts Council's 'Horizons 12' scheme; which included a recording session at the historic 'Maida Vale Studios' in London. CaStLeS released their debut album, 'Fforesteering' in November 2016, by December The Guardian crowned them their 'New Band of the Week'. The album also gained further coverage online and in print, with write-ups in magazines such as UNCUT and Shindig! As well as gracing the BBC Introducing Stages at Reading and Leeds Festival, the band have also appeared at Liverpool Sound City, Festival No 6, Farmfest, SWN Festival, Nozstock, Liverpool Psych Fest and performed a stirring set at FOCUS Wales in 2017.
