From Radiohead and Elbow, to Wilco and Woody Guthrie, Camera take influences from all genres of music and carve out a sound that is as powerful and epic as it is intimate and heartfelt. From being courted by major record labels in UK, and signing to ultra-hip independent label My Kung Fu for the release of their debut album, to playing in front of 60,000 people at the Cardiff Millennium Stadium for the 2005 Tsunami Relief benefit concert, Camera are a band that have consistently built on a solid foundation of classic song-writing and finely tuned yet understated musicianship. After touring in support of their debut album, the 2006 My Kung Fu release ‘Ashes and Dim Light’ for just over two years, 2008 saw the band take a break and start work on new material; which led to the release of the critically acclaimed ‘The Fireflies’ EP (www.thefirefliesep.com) as a free download. Indie label dRUM wITH oUR hANDS released Camera’s second album ‘For When You Wake’ in October 2011, which won the band new admirers across the globe, and strengthened the opinion that Camera are one of the finest bands that Wales has to offer the World.
