Angharad Jenkins (Musician)


Angharad Jenkins is a freelance musician, teacher and project manager from Swansea. She is a founding member of the celebrated Welsh folk group Calan who have toured extensively around the UK, Europe and North America. She also plays with the Welsh ‘supergroup’ Pendevig as well as with her mother the harpist Delyth Jenkins. Her innovative and experimental approach has lead her to work with poets and artists and on theatre productions. When she’s not following a busy touring schedule she manages youth music projects and was responsible for founding the residential youth courses Gwerin Gwallgo and Gwerin Iau for trac: Music Traditions Wales; both have become an important part of the recent folk revival amongst young people in Wales. ​She’s a passionate advocate for music and wellbeing through her work with Live Music Now and Music in Hospitals.
