Professor Alec Shepley
Alec is Dean of Faculty, Faculty of Arts, Science and Technology and a Professor of Contemporary Art Practice. He is also a practising artist whose drawing works encompass sculpture, video, installation and performative activities which often draw in members of the public. His individual and collaborative research has attracted funding from the Arts & Humanities Research Council, the British Council, the Arts Councils of England and Wales. His work has been exhibited widely, both nationally and internationally, with pieces held in a number of public and private collections in North America, Europe and Asia.

Alec is an experienced senior academic leader specialising in working with creative individuals to refresh academic profiles and identity, purpose and ambition for arts and technology research and teaching – particularly within ‘polytechnic type’ universities.
